Election field set for August primary

The Michigan Bureau of Elections has confirmed there will be a half-dozen candidates for governor, seven for the seat currently held by Congressman Bart Stupak, four for the seat held by State Sen. Jason Allen in the 37th District, and six candidates for the 107th District seat currently held by State Rep. Gary McDowell.

McDowell confirms run for U.S. Congress

McDowell said he was strongly encouraged by people to run for congress following Stupak’s announcement. And, after consulting with his family, he decided to throw his hat into the ring.
