Gary McDowell has served for over 25 years (1981-Present) as the Treasurer
for McDowell Hay, Inc., a 1,000-acre hay farming and distribution business
in Rudyard, which he owns with his brothers. He is also a retired UPS
driver.
Before becoming State Representative, Gary served on the Chippewa County
Board of Commissioners for 22 years (1981-2002) and was Board Chairman for
the last four of those years (1998-2002).

Gary was raised in Rudyard, MI on the family farm, and is the oldest of 10
children. He is a 1970 graduate of Rudyard High School and attended Lake
Superior State College. Gary and his wife, Carrie, have three daughters -
Alivia, Emily and Rochelle.
